Lightly muddle mint in the syrup, fill glass with crushed ice, pour genever over the top, stir.
Apparently this was popular in the 19th century, though these days the mint julep is only done with bourbon.

- Mr Manhattan (Savoy) — Genever, Orange juice, Sugar, Mint, Lemon juice
- Honeysuckle Julep — Old Tom Gin, Herbal liqueur, Honey syrup, Peach
- Strange Mercy — Genever, Gin, Peychaud's Bitters, Orange bitters, Tea syrup, Lemon peel
