Frank's Cocktail

1 12 oz Cognac (Wondrich recommends Pierre Ferrand Ambre or Hine Rare)
1 12 oz White port
1 t Maraschino Liqueur (or grenadine; see history)
3 ds Orange bitters
1 twst Lemon peel (as garnish)
Instructions
Stir, strain, up, twist.
History
The original recipe, printed in Newman's book American Bar in 1900, called for grenadine, but an amendment in 1904 changed that to Maraschino liqueur.
